Doreen Randone, MS, CCC-SLP
Doreen Randone received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Science with minors in Spanish and Psychology. She earned both degrees at La Salle University through completion of an accelerated five-year speech-language pathology program. While attending La Salle, Doreen conducted a research study by surveying parents of children with severe-profound hearing loss to determine the type and quality of information they received about cochlear implants (e.g., nature of the surgery and risks, rehabilitation process). Doreen presented the results of the study at an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) convention in Orlando, Florida to inform professionals of parents’ overall satisfaction with information they received about cochlear implants. Upon graduating, Doreen received an academic award as the outstanding student in her program and was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Alumni Honor Society.
Doreen has worked with clients in multiple settings, including public school districts, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation hospitals. Doreen’s experience includes evaluating and treating children with articulation, phonological, fluency, social communication, and receptive/expressive language disorders. She has also evaluated and treated adults with dysphagia, dysarthria, voice, aphasia, and cognitive-communication disorders. In addition to working at Speech and Hearing Associates, Doreen works in an award-winning public school district, where she functions as a Child Study Team member, conducts evaluations, and develops/implements speech/language services for students across numerous grade levels.
Through her various experiences, Doreen understands the importance of individualizing therapy to clients’ needs to help them succeed academically, socially, and/or functionally. She utilizes evidence-based practice by integrating clients’ data, collaborating with families, and using research to drive clinical decision-making.
