The social communication groups that are run at Speech and Hearing Associates target individual treatment goals within a group setting and focus specifically on social thinking, emotions, conversational skills, and social interactions.
In group sessions, participants, under the guidance of the speech language pathologist, will learn to use these skills through interactions with their peers and role playing everyday scenarios.
In addition, participants will be guided so they can use the skills learned during the sessions and integrate them successfully into their daily activities.
Participants are carefully placed in a group that best suits their needs according to diagnosis, level of behavioral and social strengths and weaknesses, age, and gender.
