Our office managers will call Cigna to determine the benefits of your plan (Cigna usually requires an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/speechandhearingassoc.com\/resources\/insurance-glossary\/#6\">authorization<sup>6<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;or we will do a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/speechandhearingassoc.com\/resources\/insurance-glossary\/#9\">test therapy session<sup>9<\/sup><\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Our office managers will follow instructions required by Cigna to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Obtain&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/speechandhearingassoc.com\/resources\/insurance-glossary\/#6\">authorization<sup>6<\/sup><\/a>, if necessary<\/li><li>Get&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/speechandhearingassoc.com\/resources\/insurance-glossary\/#7\">pre-determination<sup>7<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;for services, if required<\/li><li>Advise you, the patient, on obtaining a doctor\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/speechandhearingassoc.com\/resources\/insurance-glossary\/#8\">referral<sup>8<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;if required<\/li><li>Advise you, the patient, on obtaining a doctor\u2019s prescription, if necessary<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>3. If coverage is unclear, our office managers can schedule a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/speechandhearingassoc.com\/resources\/insurance-glossary\/#9\">test therapy session<sup>9<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;for review by Cigna to determine coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.
