Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist
Farwa earned her Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology with an emphasis in working with individuals from multilingual and multicultural backgrounds from Columbia University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. She speaks Hindi, Urdu and English.
Farwa has extensive clinical experience in evaluating and treating children and adults with a wide range of disorders and disabilities. This diversity has allowed her to gain the clinical knowledge and experience in treating disorders of articulation, language, fluency, dysphagia (swallowing disorders), aphasia, apraxia and many others. She has worked in multiple private practice locations, sub – acute and outpatient rehabilitation facilities for Speech and Hearing Associates. She is Lee Silverman Voice Treatment LOUD certified and PROMPT trained.
Farwa holds her NJ Speech Language Specialist certification from the New Jersey Department of Education as well as NYS Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities Initial Certification. She has repeatedly been named “NJ’s Favorite Kids’ Doc and Exceptional Pediatric Healthcare Professionals” by New Jersey Family Magazine. Farwa holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is also a member of ASHA and the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association (NJSHA).
