Allie Policastro, MA, CCC-SLP
Allie Policastro earned her Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Kean University and Bachelor Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology from Oklahoma State University.
She has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation (Centrastate Medical Center) where she is the outpatient pediatric Speech Pathologist. She has experience treating geriatric and pediatric populations with disabilities and disorders including mixed receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, fluency, sensory food aversions, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, social/behavioral, dysphagia, and cognitive impairments resulting from concussions and TBIs. Allie is also level 1 PROMPT trained, a technique which emphasizes a tactile-kinesthetic approach to facilitate motor-mapping of the articulators (jaw, tongue, and lips) to guide the patient to the correct phoneme placement.
Allie works closely with occupational and pediatric therapists and believes in a multidisciplinary approach when treating patients with sensory and behavior disorders commensurate with ASD to provide the best treatment and ensure the highest level of success.
Allie holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). In addition, Allie also obtains the State of New Jersey Licensure in the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
