Marisa Bierenfeld
Speech-Language Pathologist
Marisa earned her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Seton Hall University in 2017. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Stockton University in 2013.
Marisa has professional experience working in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. In New Jersey, Marisa worked in a public school and private practice. After moving to D.C., Marisa worked with the geriatric population in skilled nursing facilities. There, she treated and evaluated patients with cognitive and swallowing disorders. She also has experience in a private practice setting coaching families in their home for early intervention services. While working in a public charter school, she was part of a multidisciplinary team serving students pre-kindergarten to fourth grade.
Marisa is well rounded in serving children with receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia, autism spectrum disorder, selective mutism and fluency disorders. She also has experience with English language learners.
Marisa is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. She holds a speech-language specialist certification to work in New Jersey schools and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also a member of New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NJSHA) and DCSHA (District of Columbia Speech-Language-Hearing Association).
